DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan Joins Together for Kids

Membership to Strengthen Hospital’s Access to Urgently Needed Funds for Children’s Health Needs

DETROIT – DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan has joined Together for Kids, a national alliance of nonprofit children’s hospitals connecting to raise money to improve care for America’s sick and injured children. Through the partnership, the Children’s Hospital of Michigan will be able to collaborate with other member hospitals and gain access to much-needed funds to meet the increasing health care needs of children.

“We are thrilled to have the Children’s Hospital of Michigan as a new member,” says Board Chair Crystal Hinson Miller of North Carolina Children’s Hospital at the University of North Carolina. “By joining Together for Kids, Children’s Hospital of Michigan demonstrates the long-term value our organization brings in facilitating collaboration between member hospitals and connecting children with the technology,
treatment and programs that will improve their health.”

Founded in 2006, Together for Kids’ primary focus is on raising unrestricted funds for Children’s Hospital of Michigan and other member hospitals to help them tackle the toughest children’s health care issues, including childhood obesity and injury prevention. One hundred percent of all funds raised will go directly to providing needed health care for children.

“This partnership is a great way to increase awareness about the incredible impact that the Children’s Hospital of Michigan has on our community,” says Patrick Kelly, vice president of development at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. “We are excited about our participation and all the good this will bring to so many children served by all of the participating hospitals.”

Together for Kids consists of more than 40 hospitals serving children throughout the U.S. The alliance also includes 20 Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Children’s Hospital of Michigan is the only hospital in the state to be aligned with Together for Kids. Other member hospitals recently added include Presbyterian Hemby Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, N.C.
